Promoting Australia’s Renewable Energy Industry

In order to promote the development of Australia’s Renewable Energy industry, Cleaner Climate recently became a supporter of feedintariff.com.au.

The online petition site has been established to influence the Federal Government of Australia to mandate a National Gross Feed in Tariff for Renewable Energy.

This means that for every kilowatt hour (kWh) of electricity produced at your home via renewable sources such as solar or wind, households will receive a set fee amount, over and above the market rate, for up to 15 years.

A feed in tariff of $0.80 per kWh will provide the financial incentive needed to increase installations of Renewable Energy technologies such as solar panels and wind turbines.

This will help Australia achieve its target of generating 20% of electricity via renewable means by 2020 and reduce reliance on dirtier fossil fuels.
