Cleaner Climate selected by the OECD, Paris
The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), represents the interests of the world’s largest economies and helps governments tackle the economic, social and governance challenges of a globalised economy.
In September 2008, Cleaner Climate analysed the carbon footprint of 1584 global participants from over 45 countries who attended the OECD’s High Level Forum 3 on Aid Effectiveness in Accra, Ghana.
Given the large percentage of conference related carbon emissions were from flights the OECD worked with Cleaner Climate to accurately measure each delegates flight pattern and the associated CO2 emissions.
Following international guidelines from the WCI, IPCC, the ISO14000 series and Cleaner Climate’s elaborate in-house travel database the total CO2 emissions were documented, offset and retired to Cleaner Climate’s online registry.
