Travelling Green with Greyhound Australia

Greyhound Australia – the largest bus operator in Australia has partnered with Cleaner Climate to implement a long term initiative to improve efficiency in their buildings and provide customers with the ability to “travel green”.

At the launch of the initiative, Ben Muir, Managing Director said “We are really excited to be partnering with a great Aussie icon such as Greyhound. A key aspect of this relationship is Cleaner Climate’s capability to deliver a comprehensive carbon solution beyond offsetting. The Green Dollar by Cleaner Climate program includes a series of emissions audits and workshops with staff as well as the implementation of energy efficiency within Greyhound’s headquarters and workshops."

The program allows customers to pay an extra dollar to support Cleaner Climate’s UNFCCC compliant carbon offset projects in developing countries.

Each customer participating in the Green Dollar program has the opportunity to win one of two 1kW solar PV systems from Energy Matters valued at $12,000.

Greyhound Australia Chief Executive Officer Rob Thomas said he was proud to be reducing the carbon footprint of Greyhound buses even further and for Greyhound to be leading the way in the Australia coach industry.
