Cleaner Climate is committed to achieving our goals through a simple 4 step process.
Step 1 – Assess
Each engagement commences with a measurement phase where we also discuss the issues driving an organisation or individual towards becoming part of the low carbon economy.
Once engaged Cleaner Climate completes an emissions assessment consistent with best practice methodology
Step 2 – Reduce
Once the assessment is complete we provide a variety of energy and water efficiency recommendations. These recommendations usually provide rapid returns and also help further reduce emissions.
Step 3 – Accreditation
Once a plan is in place for emission reductions, organisations are empowered to offset their remaining emissions and become an accredited partner. At this stage our true job is just beginning. We work closely with partners to help them inspire employees, customers, friends and other stakeholders to change behaviours, support better practices and then share again.
Step 4 – Develop
Funds generated by the sale of our offsets are used to purchase and retire credits from our portfolio of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects which reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Environment
Cleaner Climate and its Directors are committed to becoming climate change leaders in how we conduct our own affairs.
- Cleaner Climate only uses recycled paper within our offices and for our printed collateral
- Cleaner Climate (where possible) installs CFL in all offices and Director’s personal residences
- Cleaner Climate (where possible) purchases 100% Green Energy in all offices and Key executive’s personal residences
- Cleaner Climate (where possible) provides incentives for other staff to switch their homes to 100% Green Energy
- Each Cleaner Climate Director purchases an appropriate quantity of carbon offsets to ensure that their lifestyle is consistently “offset”. This includes but is not limited to personal car use, personal and business flights, personal and business accommodation, personal and business food consumption.
- Cleaner Climate provides incentives for other staff to offset their lifestyle in a similar manner
- Cleaner Climate is committed to a process of continual improvement with regards to carbon offsetting
- Cleaner Climate annually reviews its own emissions as well as those of Director’s in their own living arrangements.

Community
Cleaner Climate supports charities in the communities where we operate. In South Africa we provide financial assistance to the Valley Trust which works with children and teenagers affected by HIV/Aids.
