Cleaner Climate's Assurance Framework

Our Assurance framework is designed to ensure that corporations and individuals wishing to purchase offsets for CSR, green initiatives or environmental policy criteria access only the highest quality carbon offsets available.

Cleaner Climate adheres to 4 Assurance Principles:

Quality

All Cleaner Climate’s emission reductions are from projects that also provide social and economic benefits to the surrounding communities in accordance with our Project principles. Our projects comply with the methodologies of the United Nations Clean Development Mechanism and are often certified as either Gold Standard or Voluntary Carbon Standard due to their strong sustainabile development benefits. In addition, our projects take place in developing countries thus ensuring the transfer of intellectual property and best of breed technologies.

Real Reductions

All projects must comply with additionality, baseline and sustainability criteria as set out and approved by the United Nations CDM Executive Board. Each year projects are verified by an independent third party according to the relevant CDM methodology to ensure that anticipated reductions have actually been achieved.

Carbon Registry

All emission reductions are surrendered and retired against a detailed internal register with annual verification by an accredited auditor.

Cleaner Climate is also a member of the Markit Environmental Registry (formally TZ1).

We are currently transitioning our VCS certified emission reductions into our Markit VCS Account to ensure greater transparency.

Our Own Values

We transparently display our values and philosophies for all to see and intend to continuously improve the way Cleaner Climate conducts its business globally.
