Cleaner Climate's Assurance Framework

Our Assurance framework is designed to ensure that corporations and individuals wishing to purchase offsets for CSR, green initiatives or environmental policy criteria access only the highest quality carbon offsets.

Cleaner Climate adheres to 3 Key Assurance Principles:

Quality

All Cleaner Climate’s offset projects comply with the methodologies of the United Nations Clean Development Mechanism and are certified as either Gold Standard or Voluntary Carbon Standard .

In addition, our projects take place in developing countries thus ensuring the transfer of intellectual property and best of breed technologies.

Real Reductions

All projects must comply with additionality, baseline and sustainability criteria as set out and approved by the United Nations CDM Executive Board.

Each year projects are verified by an independent third party according to the relevant CDM methodology to ensure that anticipated reductions have actually been achieved.

Retirement - Carbon Registry

All emission reductions have a unique tracking ID and are surrendered and retired to Cleaner Climate's detailed internal registry.

Cleaner Climate also has a registered account with the Gold Standard registry http://www.cdmgoldstandard.org/ and the VCS Markit Environmental registry (formally TZ1)  http://www.markitenvironmental.com

Once emission reductions become eligible, they are immediately transferred to either the Gold Standard or VCS registry.  Projects and related project documentation are available publicly.
